Payment information
Tuition payments are handled by Flutterwave. We never see or store your full card or bank details. We only receive confirmation of whether your payment succeeded and its transaction ID.

We only use your information where we have a lawful basis to do so under the NDPA.

We never sell your personal information, and we do not share it with other businesses for their own marketing.
04Who we share it with
We share information only where it is needed to provide our services. We use the following service providers:
| Provider | What they do for us |
|---|---|
| Flutterwave | Processes tuition payments |
| Google (Sheets, Forms, Apps Script) | Stores training registrations and webinar sign-ups |
| SheetDB | Sends vendor applications to our records |
| EmailJS | Delivers contact and consultation form messages to our inbox |
| Microsoft Clarity | Website analytics, including heatmaps and session recordings |
| Google Ads | Measures how our adverts perform |
| Meta (Facebook and Instagram) | Measures adverts and shows our ads to relevant audiences |
| Google Firebase Hosting | Hosts the Website |
| WhatsApp and YouTube | Used when you message us or watch embedded videos |
We may also share information with:
- Vendors and venues working on your event, limited to what they need, such as your name, contact number, date and guest count;
- Clients, where you are a vendor in our directory and we refer a client to you;
- Professional advisers, such as accountants and lawyers;
- Authorities, where the law requires it.
05International transfers
Some of our providers, such as Google, Microsoft and Meta, store data on servers outside Nigeria. Where this happens, we rely on the protections allowed under the NDPA, such as the provider's data protection commitments and standard contractual terms, to make sure your information stays protected.
06Cookies and tracking
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We and our partners use cookies and similar technologies to:
- Make the Website work. For example, we briefly store your payment status in your browser so the Training page can confirm your registration after Flutterwave redirects you back. This is removed once your registration is complete.
- Understand how the Website is used. Microsoft Clarity records clicks, scrolling and page visits so we can improve the design. Clarity masks the text you type into form fields.
- Measure and improve our adverts. The Google Ads tag and Meta Pixel tell us when someone who saw our ad visits the Website or registers.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. You can also opt out of personalised ads through your Google ad settings and Meta ad preferences. The Website will still work if you block analytics and advertising cookies.
07How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not become bookings: up to 2 years after our last contact.
- Client, student and payment records: 6 years after the event or course ends, to meet tax and accounting rules.
- Training certificates: kept so we can confirm your certificate if an employer asks.
- Vendor listings: while you are listed, and up to 2 years after you are removed.
- Job applications: up to 12 months, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
- Analytics data: as set by each provider, usually between 13 and 26 months.
When we no longer need information, we delete it or make it anonymous.
08How we protect it
We limit access to personal information to team members who need it, use secure, password-protected accounts with our providers, and serve the Website over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. No system is completely secure, but if a breach puts your rights at risk, we will tell you and the NDPC as the law requires.
09Your rights
Under the NDPA, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you;
- Correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- Delete your information where we no longer need it;
- Restrict or object to how we use it, including for marketing;
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting anything we did before;
- Data portability, which means receiving your data in a common format;
- Complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission at ndpc.gov.ng.
To use any of these rights, email maraeventsplanning@gmail.com with the subject "Data request". We will reply within 30 days and may ask you to confirm your identity first.
10Children
Our Website and training are meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Where we plan a children's event, such as a birthday party, we collect details only from the parent or guardian who books it. If you think a child has sent us their information, please contact us and we will delete it.
11Event photos
We may take photos and videos at events we plan and use some of them to show our work, as explained in our Terms & Conditions. If you appear in one of our photos and would like it removed, email us with a link to the image and we will take it down.
12Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services or the law change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated. If a change significantly affects how we use your information, we will let you know.
